  • Organic Living Festival

    We re proud to bring you our first annual Organic Living Festival!! The SG Tiki Farm, 9th Ward Nursery, and Bamboo Master Studio bring bring you a day of music, food, and learning. Set on the bayou at the SG Tiki Farm on our exotic plant farm with views and tropical Tiki atmosphere. Explore our Tiki Food Lab, where we seek umami through fermentation and flavor experimentation. Meet the Bamboo Master himself, buy live bamboo & other interesting plants. Enjoy live music, delicious foods, local arts & crafts, talks on sustainability, music created from living things and environment, discussions on fermentation, foraging, and companion gardening/permaculture. The goal is to share information about organic foods, sustainable gardening, bamboo construction, low-impact building, fermentation, zero waste cooking, and more. Plus, Live Music!!! We will have several bands to enjoy the beautiful Tiki Farm atmosphere. Also, food will be available for purchase along with goods from regional vendors focused on organic and sustainable living - including fermented foods, plants, live bamboo, and art.

    Bulbancha is the indigenous name for the area where New Orleans is now located. With a nod to Thanksgiving traditions, Chef Chris DeBarr will walk you down the ancient trail of ingredients, flavors, and history of American foods - focusing in particular on Gulf Coast tribes.   • Ode to the Chef III

    Back by popular demand! Guests collaborate to write an 8 line poem, from which we create your 8 course chef tasting menu!!! A magical evening of culinary exploration that is a true interactive experience like nothing you have seen before. Your Food Experience will also include a farm tour. Tiki beverages available for separate purchase. We will ask the guests to write the poem about a week before the dinner, so we have time to create the menu. When there are multiple groups, we have each group write a few lines, and the next group continues the poem until the poem is complete!   • Sonic Food Experience w/ Porpita Porpita

    A journey through a soundscape of Exotic Music & Food. Jonny Campos (Lost Bayou Ramblers, Pink Teddy Bear) and Carlos Grasso (Pink Teddy Bear & Friday Night DJ at Suis Generis) will perform a special dinner set on pedal steel guitar and electronics/soundscapes at the Tiki Food Lab. Executive Chef & Food Scientist, Ernie Foundas will present a 6 course dinner from which Carlos & Jonny will create a custom soundscape paired with, and performed during each course.
